My Favorite Brain Game- Ace to King

When it comes to brain games or exercises to stave off dementia and keep memory circuits active and healthy- Ace to King tops my list!

It's fun and easy to play! All you need is a deck of ordinary playing cards and a flat surface- and you are ready to play.

I prefer to think of brain stimulation as games. It sounds more like fun rather than a chore. Which would you rather do- play a game or do a chore?

Click here to download a PowerPoint slideshow that shows you how to play it.

(You'll need PowerPoint, or Open Office, which is free. If you have a Mac, you'll need NeoOffice, which is also free. Once it's downloaded, go to the file on your computer and double-click on it to open the file.)

Then start playing Ace to King for free!

How did you do? Did you get all the cards?

It is important to start at a level where you can succeed.

I once had a patient who suffered a major stroke- she could not do 4 cards in the beginning.

Six months later she was doing all A-K! You can do this!

Her secret? She carried her cards with her and played any time and place she went.

It only takes a few minutes to play- and she was motivated to improve her brain function.

If you want to be dementia-free- You too must be motivated to keep your brain healthy.
